A Youngstown woman is hoping those struggling with mental illness can find themselves thanks to the help of her new self-published journal.

Jillian Routhe's Journal 'My Hidden Jewels' helps with mindfulness, mood tracking, and journaling to help those with mental illness better convey problems to professionals.

After being diagnosed with bipolar disorder Routhe says she wants to help others find hope and recovery

"I WANTED TO GIVE PEOPLE LIKE ME, WHO HAVE MENTAL ILLNESS, NOT JUST BIPOLAR DISORDER BUT SCHIZOPHRENIA, DEPRESSION, AND ANXIETY A WAY OUT AND A WAY TO LOOK AT LIFE DIFFERENTLY," said routhe.

Routhe launched the journal at a small speaking event Saturday.

The journal is now on presale on Routhe's Facebook page and releases on May 3rd.
