WARREN, Ohio - Andrew Herman unseated Alford Novak on Warren City Council during the primary Tuesday night.

The tightly contested race was won by just six votes.

Herman collected 118 votes to Novak's 112.

The newly-elected Herman is a special education teacher at Warren's McGuffey K-8 school.

Herman's platform included beautification of the 2nd Ward and working with the city's road department to create a real-time road reporting link.

Warren City Council will be without Al Novak for the first time in 30 years.
