Austintown woman sentenced for providing deadly drug in Mercer County

An Austintown woman was sentenced Friday for providing the drugs that caused the overdose death of a Mercer County woman.
Mercer County Common Pleas Court Judge Tedd Nesbit sentenced Nicoletta Robinson, 34, to 111 months (nine years and three months) to 27 years in prison. Robinson's attorney asked if she could be released on house arrest pending appeal, but the judge said no. Robinson was taken to the Mercer County Jail after the sentencing.
In May, Robinson was found guilty of drug delivery resulting in death, aggravated assault, criminal use of a communication facility, manufacture or delivery with intent to manufacture, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person.
When Robinson was arrested in 2019, police say she supplied drugs to a 32-year-old Mercer woman who died from an overdose in Coolspring Township.
Initially, investigators didn't suspect foul play. However, Robinson was charged after further investigation.
Robinson has been under house arrest since her conviction.
