Warren Police find 7-year-old sisters learning remotely at home alone

WARREN, Ohio - Trumbull County Children’s Services and Warren Police are investigating after a teacher reported finding two of her students were learning remotely at home all alone.
Warren City School officials contacted police on Wednesday after a teacher who was conducting virtual learning discovered that no adult was at home with the seven-year-old sisters during the class.
Liaisons from the school went to the home to confirm that the girls were alone.
The investigating officer knocked on the door and the girls answered.
The officer learned that their mother works from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m., telling the girls not to cook anything or open the door to strangers.
Police say the house was clean, the girls appeared to be healthy, and were dressed neatly. The report also notes that there was adequate food in the house.
A relative was contacted who came to the house to watch the girls.
As of Friday, it appeared that no charges had been filed.
On March 15, Warren City School District students who were participating in a hybrid learning model were moved to in-person learning full-time for the remainder of the school year. Students who chose to keep with a full remote model will continue to do so through the end of the school year.
In February, Liberty Police filed child endangering charges against a woman who was working in a pizza shop while her two daughters were left in a Belmont Avenue motel. A May 26 court hearing has been scheduled for Shaina Bell in that case.
