WARREN, Ohio -  A brother, sister, and their mother are charged following a confrontation with Warren Police early Monday.

An officer investigating a threat complaint say they stopped 42-year-old Mindy Austin in her Jeep on Lane Drive after midnight.

Police say Austin began to argue as they questioned her, and a crowd began to gather in the area, including Austin’s 18-year-old daughter Leasia May, and May’s 23-year-old brother, Darius Austin.

More officers were called to assist after people gathering at the scene refused to step back, according to the police report.

Claiming that Mindy Austin tried to walk away, an officer says she tackled her to the ground, attempting to place her in handcuffs.

According to the report, Austin’s daughter charged the officer, striking him in the back.

As another officer put the daughter in handcuffs, police say May’s Brother, Darius Austin was arrested after striking an officer in the back.

Darius Austin and Leasia May were booked into the Trumbull County Jail on charges of obstructing official business and assault on a police officer. Mindy Austin was charged with obstructing official business.

Mindy Austin and Leasia May pleaded not guilty during their arraignment on Monday.  A court date has been set on Tuesday for Darius Austin.
