Ground problem closes new football field at McDonald High School

MCDONALD, Ohio - McDonald High School's new track and football field is closed to the public while the school repairs an area of turf that separated from the track.
The area spans about two feet on the north side of the field and is about a foot deep.
The school's baseball, soccer, and track teams had been using the field before the hole was discovered Monday.
"They love this new facility. They want to make sure the kids get on it and so do we. I understand the concern but I just want them to rest assured if anything else comes up, we're going to let them know all the details as we move forward." said McDonald superintendent Kevin O'Connell.
A reason why the area caved in has not yet been determined.
Repairs to the field should be complete in about two weeks.
