Business booming in Columbiana

COLUMBIANA, Ohio - "Columbiana in the last few years has just really exploded," Nick DeMaiolo of Milo Land Company.
It's just the beginning with major projects happening on the corner of Route 14 and Route 7 in Columbiana at Firestone Farms.
Bobcat Development LLC invested $3 million dollars into a property owned by Milo Land Company. DeMaiolo said they expect around 11 new businesses including retail, restaurants, and office space.
"It will be a two-phased project. The first phase will be about a 6500 square foot retail plaza that will be completed this fall," DeMaiolo said, "And then in the spring we'll start on 9,000 square-foot retail and office mixed space."
So far, Sweet Melissa's Good Eats is committed. Just around the corner, Salem Regional Medical Center sought permission to build an over 60,000 square foot facility at the northeast corner.
"You imagine a multi-floor development is going to have a lot of services being 60,000 thousand square foot, so we look to learn more about that later this year," City Manager Lance Willard said.
In a couple of weeks, a brand new Mexican restaurant is also opening in Firestone Farms.
"It's going to be called Mexico City. What they've told us it is authentic Mexican food," Vice President of Firestone Homestead, Jeremy Mackall said.
