Memorial Day Weekend in the Valley

Memorial Day parades and remembrance ceremonies will look slightly different for the second straight year.
Austintown will be forgoing its traditional parade and replacing it with a ceremony at Veterans Park at 10 a.m.
Poland has also canceled its parade and while Boardman Township won't be having its annual parade, they will welcome back a full in-person service.
Mark Luke, President of the Kiwanis Club of Boardman said, "We are happy to have a full in-person service open to all community members, including all veterans. We will have our Boardman High School wind ensemble, we will have the usual Boy Scouts participating in the flag ceremony."
In Trumbull County, Warren will continue the laying of the wreath ceremony and parade to follow.
Brookfield will have an outdoor ceremony at 10 a.m. on Memorial Day.
In Mercer County, the annual Memorial 500 in Mercer will go on as planned with a 5k race, honoree ceremony at 9:30 a.m., and a parade at 11 a.m.
In Canfield, what is usually a three-part Memorial Day service will be reduced to a ceremony at East Cemetery open for American Legion members and their families, but a live stream will be available from the Canfield Police Department.
Just down the road in Salem, plans for a parade are still on for Saturday the 29.
The parade will start on Broadway and Pershing and we have approximately 40 or 41 units that are going to be in the parade.
Leetonia and Washingtonville have canceled their parade but will continue with their memorial ceremonies as normal.
If you're looking to get outside with family and friends Mill Creek Park is allowing pavilion rental and use of outdoor recreation space.
Mosquito Lake State Park, Berlin Lake, and Craig Beach will all be accessible and continue to follow the latest Ohio Department of Health guidance.
