Good Samaritan robbed in Warren

WARREN, Ohio - A Warren man found that being a good Samaritan is not necessarily met with kindness in return.
A 30-year-old man told police Monday night that he offered to help a man at the Parkman Road Circle K who claimed that his car was broken down and he needed money to fix it.
After an employee at the store told the victim that the man asking for help was a regular customer, the victim offered to drive the man-in-need to his car and push it off the road, perhaps even help him fix it.
The stranger hopped into the unknowing victim’s car, saying that he owned a 2010 Dodge Charger.
When they arrived at Tod Avenue and Buckeye Street and there was no Dodge Charger, the driver became suspicious.
He said that’s when another man, this one with a knife, walked up to the car window and demanded all of the victim’s money.
According to the police report, the victim told the two men that the joke was on them because all he had was 20 dollars, which he handed over to the man with the knife.
Both suspects left. When the victim contacted police, he suggested that they check the Circle K’s surveillance video to see if it recorded the suspect who set him up.
