Drivers whose morning commute included Mahoning Avenue in Austintown had more than just fog to contend with on Friday.
Orange construction cones were set up along both sides of the road, closing the curb lanes near Turner Road and the Mill Creek Metroparks Bikeway.
According to the Ohio Department of Transportation, more than 11,000 cars and trucks travel that stretch of road daily.
More than five miles of Mahoning Avenue are being resurfaced from the Meander Reservoir to Meridian Road.
The pavement on the heavily traveled road will also be repaired and new curb ramps will be installed.
The construction is expected to span about four months, continuing through September.
Drivers will see lane restrictions but traffic will be maintained in both directions.
