16-year-old charged in connection with shooting death of Youngstown teen

Investigators are talking with a male juvenile who is in custody but has not been charged.

YOUNGSTOWN - A 16-year-old is charged with reckless homicide and tampering with evidence in connection with the death of another 16-year-old in Youngstown on Thursday.

Detectives have still not said released much information about the shooting that claimed the life of 16-year-old Malik Stewart in Youngstown and are not ruling out the possibility that the shooting was accidental.

Police responded to the 2700 block of Hammaker Street around 1:30 p.m. on Thursday where officers found Stewart in an apartment from a gunshot wound.

The name of the juvenile who is charged has not been released yet.
