Man jumps into Beaver River following Wayne Twp. police chase
A chase suspect in Lawrence County jumped into a river to try and escape from police.
WAYNE TOWNSHIP, LAWRENCE CO., Pennsylvania - A chase suspect in Lawrence County jumped into a river to try and escape from police.
The chase started around 9 a.m. Friday in Union Township and ended in Wampum.
Police say the suspect turned onto River Road in Wayne Township and then bailed out of his vehicle.
He then jumped into the Beaver River and swam to the other side of the river bank where police were waiting for the suspect.
There is no word on who was arrested.
