CANFIELD, Ohio - A final goodbye was held Friday for Sister Jerome Corcoran.

Sister Jerome passed away Sunday at the age of 105.

She was active in the church for more than 78 years and a longtime leader in the community and was known for her work in education and as an advocate for the poor.

She also founded the Youngstown Community School and the Millcreek Children's Center back in the 1990s.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held today at Saint Michael Parish in Canfield

"SISTER JEROME RECEIVED MANY AWARDS FOR HER LIFE OF SERVICE ON EARTH. MAY SHE NOW EXPERIENCE THE REWARD OF ETERNAL LIFE WITH HER FAMILY AND LOVED ONES WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE HER AND NOW LIVE IN THE PRESENCE OF HOLY TRINITY."
