State Troopers say charges are pending as they investigate the death of an 83-year-old Hanoverton woman who was struck by a car in Columbiana County Friday night.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol tells 21 News that Patricia Camp was standing in the middle of State Route 9 in Hanover Township when she was struck by a Chevy Impala shortly before 10 p.m.

Camp was pronounced dead at the scene by the county coroner.

The patrol says that neither the driver of the car, 33-year-old Brittany Dopp, nor her two passengers were injured.

A news release from the patrol reminds drivers and passengers to pay attention to their surroundings and reduce speed while traveling in rural areas.

Editors Note: The original release from the State Highway Patrol listed another person as the victim, but has since been corrected to Camp.
