YOUNGSTOWN - Two people were hurt in a Youngstown fire Wednesday afternoon.

The flames broke out just before noon at the home on Nelson Avenue near Jacobs Road.

Officials say they found a heavy amount of flames on arrival. The family inside was able to escape the fire before officials arrived.

According to officials, one person had to escape out of a second-story window and jump to the ground. He suffered from what appeared to be leg injuries. It's unclear how the other person was hurt.

A firefighter was also able to save a dog from the blaze.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
