Warren woman reports assault for talking during Skynyrd tune

WARREN, Ohio - Warren police are investigating a woman’s claim that she was assaulted for refusing to stay silent while a friend was trying to listen to a Lynyrd Skynyrd song.
The 28-year-old Warren woman told officers that a male friend became irate on Saturday because she and another man kept talking while Skynyrd’s song “Simple Man” was playing.
After the two left the home, the woman claimed her friend tore the door handle off a car and struck her in the face.
Police say the woman had a quarter-inch-long laceration on her face and recommended she have stitches put in. The woman said she didn’t want to go to the hospital because she doesn’t have insurance.
The woman was reluctant to file a police report, telling officers she removed the friend from all of her social media pages.
