In-person visits to resume at Mercer State Correctional Institution

Mercer County, Pa. - The State Correctional Institution at Mercer is set to resume in-person visits.
Visitations will start back up on July 9 at the Mercer County facility.
Officials are reminding people that visits must be scheduled online at least three days in advance.
Each visit will be at least one hour and established visiting rules remain in effect.
Visitors are also required to complete a COVID questionnaire and temperature screening. All inmates and visitors ages two and older are issued a disposable facemask, which must be worn for the duration of the visit.
Video visits also remain an option.
Information on scheduling an in-person or video visit is available online. People may begin scheduling in-person visits using the inmate visitation system seven days before the start date.
On-site visits to Pennsylvania Department of Corrections facilities were suspended on March 13, 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
