An incident in Bazetta Township led to one man firing a shot at his cousin.

According to the report, the incident happened at a home on the 1000 block of Perkins Jones Road around 6:32 a.m. Wednesday.

Reports say 18-year-old Joel Armstrong was at the home drinking with his cousin.

Armstrong allegedly "chugged" half a bottle of Crown Royal and became extremely intoxicated.

Police say Armstrong became argumentative and hit the victim with his phone before pulling out a handgun pointing it at different things.

The victim told police that Armstrong was told to leave the home but refused to do so.

According to the report, Armstrong and the victim were near the garage sometime later when Armstrong allegedly said "dance m***** f***** dance" and shot a round into the ground near the victim.

The victim then took the gun away from Armstrong and unloaded it in the nearby woods so Armstrong could not shoot at anyone else.

Police say Armstrong was again told to not enter the home, leading to a fight between him and the victim.

Armstrong is being held at the Trumbull County Jail on charges of felonious assault, aggravated burglary, using weapons while intoxicated, carrying a concealed weapon and underage alcohol.
