School offers counseling after death of New Wilmington student

SPRINGFIELD TWP., Mercer Co., Pa. - The Wilmington Area School District is offering counseling on Monday after the death of a student over the weekend.
Dylan Emery, 17, died late Saturday in a traffic accident on Brent Road, just west of Old Mercer Road in Springfield Township.
Investigators say Emery died when the car he was in went off the road and rolled over onto its side.
The driver, 21-year-old Russel Cyphert of Volant, as well as two 16-year-old male passengers from Volant and Slippery Rock were taken to AHN Grove City for Treatment of injuries.
According to a post on the Wilmington Greyhound Football Facebook page, those involved were three current and one former Wilmington student.
Two of the victims were seniors on this year’s football team. The three injured victims are expected to recover, according to the post.
Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Matty said in a statement that counselors will be available at the high school on Monday, July 5th, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM to meet with any students or staff.
