Children's food giveaway set for Thursday in Salem

The Brightside Project plans to hold a food giveaway for children Thursday at the organization’s new location, 483 E. Pershing Street, Salem.
The Food for Kids event is scheduled from 5 pm until 7 pm, Thursday, July 15.
Children ages 3-15 years old who are residents of Columbiana County may choose food to take home from the choice food pantry.
Perishable and non-perishable food will include soups, granola bars, juice boxes, cereal, fresh fruit, dairy products, snack items, and more.
Children may also choose a free book, “Reading Buddy” and a toy to take home.
In addition to the food giveaway, The Brightside Project has invited community agencies and organizations to be part of their ‘Friends of Brightside” Resource Fair to celebrate the opening of their new facility.
At least 15 local agencies will be on-site offering resources and information to families and children in attendance.
This is an exciting way that we can celebrate our first giveaway at our new location” says Lisa Wallace, Co-Director of The Brightside Project.
