SALEM, Ohio - A Salem non-profit dedicated to helping children has a new building.

The Brightside Project officially opened their new building, The Resiliency Center, Thursday.

The new building is located on East Pershing Street and nearly doubles the organization's usable space.

Officials tell us they plan to use the building to give things like non-perishable food items to kids.

"We outgrew our old facility very rapidly. We were having events like our winter events and kids and families were lining up outside. It was almost traumatizing for the children," said Brightside Project Co-Director Lisa Wallace.

The organization says they are also looking for volunteers to help with future events.

Anyone that wants to volunteer can go to BrightsideProjectOhio.org for more information.
