Repeat shoplifting suspect jailed in Mahoning County

A Youngstown woman is being held in the Mahoning County jail for alleged repeated shoplifting incidents at Boardman and Austintown Home Depot stores, as well as animal violations in Youngstown.
Brittney Phillips, 31, of East Florida Avenue was arrested by Austintown Police Sunday after a complaint from store security at the Austintown Home Depot.
Officials there allege that Phillips walked out without paying for more than $1,000 worth of goods including copper wire and cleaning items.
According to Boardman Police, on May 11 Phillips left the Home Depot with a lawnmower she had not paid for. Police say they had to chase Phillips through the parking lot and tackle her to make an arrest.
Police say Phillips and a man who had been with her at the Home Depot agreed not to return to the store again.
Ten days later, police say the pair came back to the store and Phillips left with a pressure washer without paying. Less than seven hours later, store officials say Phillips came back and shoplifted a second pressure washer.
Phillips is also wanted in Youngstown for failing to appear in court on charges of neglecting to register dogs and get them vaccinated.
