WARREN, Ohio - The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Trumbull County celebrated the grand opening of their new Thrift Store & Donation Center on Monday.

Darlene Jones, the Chief Executive Officer of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul Northeast Ohio District Council spoke with 21 News about what this new space means to the organization.

"It's tremendous," said Jones, "This gives us an ongoing revenue source."

The organization is heavily reliant on fundraising and donors to keep things moving, but say that the larger thrift store will help.

The new store is located at 540 Main Avenue SW in the Downtown Warren Business District.

This new thrift store is 11,000 sq ft, twice as large as their former space.

A larger space allows enough room to provide each client with confidential assistance and to determine voucher needs.

Profits from the thrift store go toward funding the services and programs St. Vincent de Paul provide to the community.

"One of our biggest and longest standing services is our daily dining hall service," Jones told 21 News. "We feed about 300-350 people every single day in our Nick Parilla Dining Hall on Niles Road."

Other services St. Vincent de Paul offers include vouchers for clothes and furniture, rent and utility assistance, and a brand new program called 'Sleep Soundly,' where the organization will help those in need find quality mattresses.

The St. Vincent de Paul society says that they anticipate this move will allow them to more effectively give services to those most in need around Trumbull County.
