BOARDMAN, Ohio - Boardman Township Trustees are telling the Oho Department of Transportation they don’t want traffic barriers along Route 224.
Trustees have sent a letter to ODOT expressing concerns about the barriers at three locations between the Shops at Boardman Park and Tiffany Blvd.
The barriers, part of the Route 224 resurfacing project, are designed to prevent accidents along the corridor.
Township officials say the barriers will prevent fire trucks and other emergency vehicles from making left turns and reaching businesses during high traffic volumes.
Trustees say the barriers were planned without input from the township and are asking the state to reconsider the decision.
