KENT, Ohio - Kent State University has updated their mask policy after revised CDC guidelines reccommend vaccinated people to wear masks while indoors.

In a release Wednesday, the schools Provost Mannfred van Dulmen stated that Kent is now strongly reccommending that all vaccinated and unvaccinated students wear masks while interacting with one another indoors.

He adds, "If you are working alone in an office setting, you do not need to wear a face covering, and instructors who are in a classroom actively teaching may choose not to wear a face covering."

Kent has 'needlepoint bipolar ionization units' to purify air in their buildings, including student rooms, dining facilities, athletic facilities, elevator cabs of five stops, and other locations.

The university urges students to get vaccinated to protect fellow students and collegues.

They offer free COVID-19 vaccinations at the on-campus DeWeese Health Center Monday through Friday, with varying hours between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
