Ohio residents get ready to celebrate tax-free weekend

COLUMBUS, Ohio - As August approaches, State Rep. Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) is reminding Ohioans to take advantage of the state's annual Tax-Free Weekend from Aug. 6-8.
During Tax-Free Weekend, all clothing items priced under $75 will be exempt from all sales and use taxes. School supplies and instructional materials $20 and under will also be exempt from sales tax during this time. Online vendors will also waive sales taxes on designated items.
Loychik says he hopes Ohio families take advantage of the opportunity to save money on clothing and school supplies.
"As a father of two, I know school season can be exciting and also financially troublesome at times," Loychik said.
This is the seventh year this annual holiday has been observed in Ohio. State lawmakers have declared this holiday a permanent yearly event to provide Ohio families relief during back-to-school season.
