Two communities are holding fundraisers to make sure school supplies get in the hands of students who need them.

Canfield is holding the Stuff the Bus School Supply Drive in Akron Children's Hospital parking lot A on Saturday, Aug. 7 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The event supports children in local foster and kinship care by providing them with school supplies.

Prevention Coordinator at the Educational Service Center of Eastern Ohio (ESCEO) Ashley Mariano thanks Akron Children's Hospital for providing the parking lot for the event and Boardman Local Schools for providing a bus.

"We look forward to being able to provide supplies these students need to complete classwork and assignments as they get ready to head back to the classroom in a few weeks," Mariano said.

Canfield isn't the only community hosting a school supply drive. Bazetta Township is teaming up with the Ohio State Highway Patrol to hold the Cram the Cruiser event for Trumbull County Schools.

The event will be held in the WalMart parking lot on Millennium Blvd. from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 7.

All proceeds from this event will be donated to the Trumbull County Educational Service Center (TCESC)
