Liberty residents met at Church Hill Park Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the renovation project at the park.

The township, along with Davey Resource Group and CT consultants, worked on the project. It included work on the pavilion, footbridge over the stream and the stream itself with erosion and the culvert falling apart.

Now that the first phase is over, the group is turning its focus to the stream and ball field. The group says the stream has eroded into the field and they believe that they will get a grant for the project.

The grant is not guaranteed yet but if it does get approved, the group can realign the banks and improve wildlife and water quality.
