Repair crews from Ohio Edison and Penn Power were still working Friday morning to restore electricity to the 500 remaining homes and businesses that were still in the dark following Thursday's storms.

As of 4:30 a.m. Friday, Penn Power reported 453 outages in Mercer County. More than half of those outages were in Shenango Township.

The utility did not have an estimated time of restoration since the damage was so widespread.

On the Ohio side of the state line, Trumbull County still had 89 outages.  Ohio Edison estimated that power would be back on by late Friday morning or early afternoon.

At one point late Thursday there were nearly 1,200 outages in the Valley.
