CHAMPION TWP., Ohio - The start of classes in the Champion Schools will not be interrupted by a strike this fall.

A letter posted by Superintendent John Grabowski says the union representing teachers meet Friday morning to ratify a tentative agreement reached earlier this week.

“School will begin on time and all extracurricular and sporting activities will be commencing without interruption,” Grabowski writes.

The terms of the agreement have not yet been released.

According to a statement from the Champion Education Association, the new contract includes language that addresses non-financial issues such as elementary planning time.

Classes are scheduled to resume on Wednesday.
