Mayor Brown joins health care advocates for bus tour stop

YOUNGSTOWN - Calls for a better healthcare system rang through the Valley Thursday morning as a non-profit bus tour stopped for an event in Downtown Youngstown.
Non-profit 'Protect Our Care' is currently traveling the country on their 'Lower Costs, Better Care' bus tour to advocate for lowering health care costs through the Affordable Care Act and Medicaid coverage.
Youngstown Mayor Tito Brown joined the health care advocates outside of the Covelli Center as part of the call for lower costs and expanded coverage for Ohioans.
"This is just a great opportunity to ask the Senate, Democrats and Republicans to make the people their first priority with lowering healthcare," said Mayor Brown.
The bus tour will travel over 8,600 miles, holding 36 events in 19 states to promote the work of President Biden and the Democratic lawmakers who are at the forefront of the fight to improve the American health care system.
Laura Packard is a health care advocate that is on bus tour for its duration.
Packard says the bus is headed to Columbus next, where they will ask people to contact their lawmakers to help make the affordable care act more affordable by passing the budget bill in the nation's capitol.
