Salem picked up it left off a year ago, and didn't miss a beat Thursday night.

The Quakers traveled to Crestview for a matchup against a Rebels team coming off their deepest playoff run in five years.

It only took one drive for Salem to find its rhythm on offense, and on its second possession, went right to work.

Senior quarterback Jack Johnson led the troops down the field, breaking contain, making magic happen, and capped off an impressive series with a 13-yard strike to Brock Young in the corner of the endzone.

The Quaker-duo set the tone, but running back Blaize Exline set the tone, finding pay dirt three times in as many possessions.

The first a 42-yard run, the next a 28-yard catch and run, and the third, a one-yard touchdown plunge.

That opened things up vertically, as Johnson connected with Austin Sinkovich on a deep ball before halftime.

Johnson and Exline combined for six touchdowns through two quarters of play, and never looked back.

Exline finished with 11 receptions for 19 yards, to go along with seven carries for 43 yards.

Jackson was 18-of-28, throwing for 259 yards

Salem starts the year off with a 38-13 victory, and will host Beaver Local next Friday.

Crestview travels to Salineville next Friday to play Southern Local.
