Bazetta cop tases Warren man accused of chasing mom with needle

BAZETTA TWP., Ohio - Bazetta Township Police used a taser to help capture a Warren man accused of trying to stab his mother with a hypodermic needle possibly contaminated with hepatitis.
Twenty-three-year-old Nathen Butch has been held in the Trumbull County Jail without bond since Friday when he was arrested after Bazetta Police say he attempted to run from them.
An employee of a restaurant on Millenium Boulevard called police to report a car without license plates parked nearby.
Police say Butch began to run away when he saw an officer checking out the car.
After a foot chase, the officer says he fired his taser to disable Butch, who was found with someone else’s credit card in his pocket.
Police charged Butch with obstructing official business and receiving stolen property.
Earlier this month he was charged with domestic violence after allegedly chasing his 37-year-old mother and a 42-year-old man around a parking lot in Warren threatening to stab them with a hypodermic needled allegedly contaminated with Hepatitis-C.
Butch ran from the parking lot before police arrived.
In addition, Butch faces menacing and burglary charges in Niles Municipal Court.
