Youngstown Police responded to a deadly double shooting that took place Tuesday morning at 10:12 a.m. on the West Side of Youngstown at 1213 Salt Springs Rd.

After arriving on the scene officers discovered one female victim dead inside the home and one male victim injured from a gunshot wound.

The male victim was transported to Mercy Health in critical condition.

Detectives said he later died in the afternoon.

Police are trying to determine if the victims are related in any way, and believe it is too early to determine whether the incident was domestic or not.

Detectives believe that the shooter is not one of the two victims and that a third party fired the shots and left the scene. Captain Rod Foley says YPD has a suspect but they are not in custody.

Foley says they are working with the prosecutor to review the case and file official charges on Wednesday.

YPD says they are investigating the crime as a possible domestic dispute.

Youngstown Police are actively looking for a silver/gray Kia Sportage with the license plate number JLU3363 in connection with the shooting.

An investigator on scene said, "The men and women of Youngstown Police Department are working tirelessly. We're just trying to work this out, we're going to figure it out."

The incident is currently being investigated by the Youngstown Police Department Detective Division and The Mahoning County Coroner's Office.

The victims' names have not yet been released.
