YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Mahoning Valley Historical Society announced on Thursday August 26 that all staff and visitors are required to wear masks in the Arms Family Museum, the  Stewart Media Archives Center and the Tyler History Center beginning Friday, August 27 regardless of the individuals vaccination status. 

Mahoning Valley Historical Society Executive Director Bill Lawson says that the the society is continuing to work with public health officials to evaluate the safety procedures and policies in light of rising COVID-19 cases. The staff and Board at the MVHS and the staff feels that the mask mandate is the best way to follow public health precautions. 

Masks and social distancing will be required at all MVHS programs and events, including their outdoor events. If guests do not have masks they will be provided by the MVHS. 

Masks and social distancing will also be required at private rented events hosted by the Mahoning Valley Historical Society, meaning that hosts and guests at different events like weddings and parties will be required to social distance and wear a mask. 

Lawson says he is working with everyone who has booked an event with the MVHS to come to an agreement and meet a resolution in regards to their event. 

The Mahoning Valley Historical Society will continue with regular public visits at both the Arms Family Museum and the Tyler History Center.
