YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Several religious leaders in the Valley will hold a 'Stop the Violence' March and Prayer walk Sunday afternoon in Youngstown.

Participants are asked to meet at the corner of Mahoning Avenue and Fernwood Avenue at 1:30 p.m. to prepare for the 2 p.m. walk.

The marches have become a reoccurring event, with Pastor Ken Simon behind the initiative to put an end to the recent uptick in Youngstown's gun violence.

For those who would like to take part in the event but cannot do the walk, there will be prayer in the parking lot of the gathering area.

If weather does not permit a walk, the event will relocate to New Covenant Church at 304 Mattas Avenue in Youngstown.
