CALCUTTA, Ohio - Some Valley firefighters have volunteered to help in recovery efforts after Hurricane Ida tore through Louisiana.
Three volunteers from the Calcutta Volunteer Fire Department hooked a trailer full of bottled water to a pickup truck and left on Monday for the storm-ravaged region.
Fire Captain Bob Davies, Lieutenant Shayne Hamilton, and firefighter Randy Schneider will aid in search and rescue efforts and offer other assistance.
The men are taking time off from their regular jobs to help.
Davies owns an excavating company and Schneider co-owns Renovatio’s restaurant.
Numbers Brewing Company of Lisbon has donated a skid of water for the hurricane victims.
