STRUTHERS, Ohio - A plume of smoke east of Campbell and Struthers Monday morning brought firefighters to a railroad yard.
Struthers and Western Reserve Fire District fire departments were called out to New Castle Avenue and Broad Street in Struthers just before 9 a.m.
Crews poured water on a pile of approximately 150 railroad ties that had caught fire.
There have been no reports of injuries.
Part of Broad Street and train traffic was shut down so firefighters could stretch a fire hose across the tracks which carry about thirty trains per day.
Investigators expected the road to be closed for some time until they bring in an excavator to smother the fire.
