Labor Day celebrations were well underway in Pennsylvania today with their annual Buhl Day Parade and the "Great Stonesboro Fair."

After a year off due to COVID the crowds tell 21 News they were more than excited to celebrate.

"It's wonderful to see the community get bacl togeter, everybody can be outside, the weather really worked out beautifully," said Tom Roberts of Hermitage. "It's just nice to see that sense of home and community and seeing people come together again. we've been starved of that for far too long," he said.

The parade was first celebrated in 1915 to honor industrialist Frank H. Buhlfor and the community.

"Things are opening up and the parade just shows what a wonderful neighborhood and area this is that we live in," said Dan Merkle of Sharon.

Locals at at the Great Stonesboro Fair tell 21 News it's all about the family fun.

"We come every year. Missed it last year but we're here this year," said Crystal Zehner of New Wilmington. "My favorite thing is just hanging out with he girls. We love it here," she said, referring to her young nieces.

Officials say having last year off means this year would be bigger and better for everyone.

"We were surprised on the turn out actually. It's been so busy. Actually, I think it was busier this year than what it was the year before last," said Patricia Alloway, an exhibitor at the fair.

The festivities at the fair will conclude by 9 p.m. tonight.
