A police pursuit Tuesday evening ended in a crash in Poland Township. 

The crash happened on Route 170 (Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road) and Hummingbird Hill Drive around 7 p.m.

A Struthers police cruiser was parked at Sami Quick Stop off of Midlothian Blvd. just before 7 p.m.

The officer noticed two passengers in a white Mazda were acting suspicious. The officer ran the plates and found the driver of the vehicle did not have a license.

The chase began after the driver of the white Mazda sped away from the Struthers police cruiser. 

The driver fled down Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road before crashing into a guardrail at Hummingbird Hill Drive. 

Both the driver and the passenger tried to flee, but one was taken into custody and the other was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. Investigation revealed two guns in the vehicle.

One motorist driving a white Cadillac was sent to the hospital with minor injuries after being struck by the white Mazda.

The incident happened near Poland High School where extra curricular activities were temporarily placed on lockdown as a precaution.
