The East Side Library will be temporarily closed for about a week due to a COVID-19 related staffing shortage and is expected to reopen on Monday, Sept. 13.

During this closure, the library will be deep cleaned and sanitized. All Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC) have needlepoint, bipolar ionization (NBPI) devices to help neutralize viruses, allergens and other harmful airborne particles. 

This technology was purchased with funds from the Federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act to help libraries serve the public while remaining safe throughout the pandemic.

During the closure, patrons are welcome to visit the library's website or go to any of PLYMAC's other locations.
