Catalytic converter stolen from Warren disabled assistance organization

WARREN, Ohio - The wave of catalytic convert thefts continued in Trumbull County with the latest victim being an organization that helps people with disabilities.
The operators of Turning Point’s No Limit facility on East Market Street tell Warren police that when employees started up their Econoline van Thursday morning, they immediately heard the loud sound from the exhaust.
It turns out that someone had cut off the catalytic converter sometime since Friday. The police report estimates the loss at $999.
Turning Point officials say a converter had been stolen one time before.
Catalytic converter thefts have shot up across the country because of the increasing value of the precious metals inside like platinum, palladium, and rhodium.
