YPD cancel picket Saturday and Sunday in remembrance of September 11

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - The Youngstown Police Association alongside the OBPA have decided to cancel their informal picket on Saturday, Sept. 11 and Sunday, Sept 12 in remembrance of the September 11, 2001 attack on the World Trade Center.
In an email sent to Youngstown Mayor, Jamael Tito Brown, the organization notified the mayor that it will be canceling both picket to reflect on the 20th anniversary of the attacks and the lives lost in them.
"We appreciate that the public remembers the sacrifices made by the officers that day and every day. We hope that the public will stand with the Youngstown Police Officers on that day and all the days to come," the email said.
A picket was held on Wednesday, Sept. 8 and another will be held on Friday Sept. 10 against the lower wages that Youngstown officers make compared to other nearby city's police departments, as well as the lack of new officers being recruited.
