Community leaders support Warren councilman

A coalition of church leaders and community leaders gathered Monday morning in support of Warren 7th ward Councilman Ron White.
White was charged last month with theft in office after a complaint alleges that the councilman's use of a city-owned printer to print campaign materials violates state law.
Members of the coalition gathered today saying the charge is unfair.
"As a group in solidarity, we are stating that aren't content with the charge against him and the charge isn't in alignment with what he's been accused of," says Joseph Walker, President of the Trumbull County Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance.
Current 5th ward councilman Ken MacPherson, also in attendance, called this a case of de minimis use, and the charge is a retribution of White not agreeing to past projects supported by other city leaders.
21 News reached out to the city's law director Enzo Cantalamessa and our calls were not returned.
The coalition in support of Councilman White plans to hold another rally on September 20th at 5 pm at the Warren Municipal Building.
