Youngstown man charged with multiple sex crimes against children

A 63-year old Youngstown man faces a 24-count indictment charging him with committing sex crimes against two children, one of them as young as 11.
The Mahoning County Grand Jury on Thursday indicted Dagoberto Gomez-Espinoza on multiple charges of rape, gross sexual imposition, and sexual battery.
One of the victims was only 11 years old when the alleged rape took place between 1998 and 2000.
A conviction on the rape charge could result in a life prison term for Gomez-Espinoza.
Twenty-two of the charges were filed in connection with alleged crimes committed between 2003 and 2012 against a victim who was as young as thirteen.
Assistant Mahoning County Prosecutor Caitlyn Andrews tells 21 News that it took some time for the victims to come forward and report the crimes.
Gomez-Espinoza will be booked into the county jail and arraigned in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court.
