SHARON, Pa. - After a year of absence due to COVID-19, WaterFire is back in Sharon lighting up the Shenango River on Saturday, Sept. 18 in Downtown Sharon.

The festival will run from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. featuring various live music acts throughout the day, as well as food, art vendors and activities for kids.

Live music performances on the main stage include Pink Moon from 2:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Santana tribute band, Evil Ways Band from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. and the Hern Brothers Band from 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. 

There will also be music on the State Street Bridge featuring ACT Sharpsville & Ally Grande starting at 5:45 p.m. Other entertainment on the bridge includes The Twirling Angels from 3:15 p.m. to 4:15 p.m. Ukuladies Gone Wild from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and the AEtheric Alchemy drumming team from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. 

River festivities will begin at 7:00 p.m. with the Native American blessing of the Shenango River followed by the lighting of the WaterFire Sharon PA Orb at 7:30 p.m. Orb lighters this year include Jodi Shrawder, Kathi Duncan and Nick Baron. 

In addition, there will be a Children's Fun Zone from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. featuring interactive projects, games, giant LEGOs, music, robotics and more. Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times and smoking is prohibited in this area.

The Sharon Tiger Techs along with the Sharon High School Robotics Team will be showcasing various types of robots. The Tiger Techs will be showcasing robots that can draw artwork, robots that can drive and will have a programming station for children aged 7 to 14 years. The Sharon High School Robotics Team will also be showcasing their school's robot from the previous school year.

New this year for children's activities is a "touch-a-truck" event from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The truck will be located on State Street between Water Street and Main Street. More vehicles will be located in the parking lot of Sharon City Center.

In addition, there will also be an artisan marketplace taking place from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. Over 50 local and regional art vendors will be showcasing their work available for purchase. 

Additionally, various food vendors will be present throughout the event serving food such as BBQ ribs, cinnamon rolls, funnel cakes, mac & cheese, Philly cheesesteak, gyros and more.

COVID-19 precautions will be taken for the event. Hand sanitizing stations will be present provided by the City of Sharon. Additionally, unvaccinated guests are strongly encouraged to wear masks. Masks will be available at the event.
