Mill Creek Park introduces new, unharmful way to get rid of geese
In the past, residents have complained about the park's methods in getting rid of their geese. The park originally used carbon dioxide gas to get rid of hundreds of geese at a time.

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Mill Creek Metroparks introduced a new and unharmful way to get rid of geese in the park.
The process is called "goose harassment," in which park officials will shine a high powered laser pointer on the ground to drive geese away from the areas the geese congregate.
In the past, residents have complained about the park's methods in getting rid of geese. The park originally used carbon dioxide gas to get rid of hundreds of geese at a time.
According to park officials, this new method of "goose harassment" could be the reason that the park is seeing 56% fewer geese in the wetlands compared to 2020.
