A 63-year-old Youngstown man made his first appearance in court after being charged with sex crimes against two children.

Dagoberto Gomez Espinoza is accused of rape, gross sexual imposition, and sexual battery. was booked into the Mahoning County jail on Monday after a county grand jury indicted him on multiple charges of rape, gross sexual imposition, and sexual battery.

Investigators say one of his victims was only eleven years old when the alleged rape occured between 1998 and 2000.

Twenty-two of the charges were filed for alleged crimes that took place against a victim as young as thirteen between a nine-year period between 2003 and 2012.

Espinoza could face life in prison if convicted for the accused rape
