An eighth person has been arrested in connection with the disappearance and murder of an Akron man whose remains authorities believe were discarded in Lake Milton.

Wadsworth, Ohio Police say 29-year-old Walter Render IV of Mentor is being held on $500,000 bond after he was indicted by a Medina County Grand Jury on charges of gross abuse of a corpse, engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, obstructing justice, and tampering with evidence.

Seven other people have been charged in connection with the disappearance and murder of 27-year-old Iron Cannon who was last seen in Wadsworth on October 18, 2020, when police say he was fatally shot.

Detectives believe Render was part of an intricate cover-up that consisted of significant efforts to mislead police.

“These efforts included the destruction of and tampering with evidence, including Mr. Cannon's remains. Remains believed to be Mr. Cannon were recovered from Lake Milton in Mahoning County on September 12, 2021,” according to police.
