Bond set for Youngstown man suspected of murdering his brother

YOUNGSTOWN - A man suspected of murdering his brother was arraigned on Friday, Oct. 1 at 1:30 p.m. in the Youngstown Municipal Court with a bond set for $1 million cash or surety.
Larry Tarver, 49, has been booked into the Mahoning County jail on a charge of murder.
Tarver was named a person of interest in the death of his 45-year old brother Telly Smith at the home they shared on the city's South Side.
Police say they began investigating Tarver soon after Smith's body was found last Friday on the 200 block of Hughes Street at around 1 p.m. last Thursday. Authorities say he was the victim of multiple gunshot wounds.
The Mahoning County Coroner's Office ruled his death a homicide soon after their investigation began.
Tarver was arraigned in Youngstown Municipal Court Friday, Oct. 1 at 1:30 p.m.
